These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in The Pulse Awards ("the Awards"), an initiative of the African American Marketing Association ("AAMA"). By submitting an entry, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Eligibility
The Pulse Awards are open to marketing professionals, agencies, brands, nonprofits, HBCUs, and content creators nationwide. There is no geographic restriction. AAMA membership is not required to enter, though members receive discounted entry pricing.
2. Entry Requirements
- Entries must be submitted as a single PDF file (maximum 10 MB, 1-5 pages)
- Work submitted must have been executed or launched within the eligible period
- Entries must be submitted by the entrant or with written permission from the work's owner
- Entries may be submitted in multiple categories with a separate fee per entry
- All submissions must be in English
3. Entry Fees and Payment
Entry fees vary by submission period (Early Bird, Regular, and Late) and AAMA membership status. All fees are non-refundable except in cases where an entry is disqualified at our discretion. Payment is processed securely through Stripe. Submission is not complete until payment is confirmed.
4. Deadlines
The final submission deadline is Sunday, June 28, 2026. No entries will be accepted after this date. Entry fees increase across submission periods as outlined on the Guidelines page.
5. Judging
Entries are evaluated by a panel of industry professionals selected by AAMA. Judges score entries on Strategy, Execution, Results, and Cultural Relevance. Judging decisions are final. Scores and individual judge feedback are confidential and will not be shared with entrants.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of all work submitted. By entering, you grant AAMA and the Pulse Awards a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to feature winning and finalist entries in promotional materials, press releases, social media, and future award program communications, with attribution.
7. Disqualification
AAMA reserves the right to disqualify any entry that: contains false or misleading information, violates third-party intellectual property rights, includes offensive or inappropriate content, or fails to meet the submission format requirements. Disqualified entries are not eligible for a refund.
8. Limitation of Liability
AAMA and the Pulse Awards are not liable for any technical issues, data loss, or errors that may occur during the submission process. Entrants are responsible for ensuring their submissions are complete and meet all requirements before the deadline.
9. Changes to the Program
AAMA reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Pulse Awards program at any time. In the event of cancellation, entry fees will be refunded.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes arising from participation in the Pulse Awards shall be resolved in the courts of Harris County, Texas.
